ISLAMABAD. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former federal minister Azam Swati Thursday surrendered before the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in a controversial tweet case.
As per details, Swati surrendered before the court and filed bail before arrest in the ATC.
The court approved Swati’s interim bail plea against surety bond of Rs10,000 and granted him bail till April 20.
Earlier, a special court had issued arrest warrants for him. Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand had directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to arrest Azam Swati and present him before his court.
On Nov 27 last year, a three-member FIA team had arrested Swati from his farmhouse in Islamabad’s Chak Shahzad area in a case related to controversial tweets against the state institutions.
