The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration on Friday announced the interception of an attempt to travel abroad using counterfeit travel documents, leading to the arrest of two travellers and four agents.
An operation conducted by FIA Immigration at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, resulted in the apprehension of Zain-ul-Abidin and Ali Raza, passengers for flight number QR-605 bound for Spain. A spokesperson revealed that both individuals possessed fraudulent Schengen visas in their passports, with Ali Raza additionally carrying a counterfeit visa for Britain. Furthermore, fake immigration stamps were discovered on Ali Raza’s passport.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the suspects acquired these visas from an agent in exchange for 2.5 million rupees. Subsequently, upon the identification of the suspects, four agents were arrested within the airport premises. The agents were identified as Sabir Iqbal, Saqib, Ajmal, and Waqas. The suspects have since been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi for further legal proceedings.
