Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said on Thursday youngsters belonging to the city were being killed in street crime by “gahir maqami” (non-local) bandits.

During his speech at an iftar-dinner organised by the party’s labour wing in North Nazimabad, Siddiqui said that also non-local police and administration were imposed on Karachi, whereas other urban centres of Sindh had their own residents in government and state institutions.

He said, “As a nation, we are undergoing different political phases, and non-local police and administration have been imposed on us. However, the MQM-P has once again taken back the mandate of the urban areas of the province from the non-locals.”

“In the month of Ramazan, young people of the city are being mercilessly martyred by non-local bandits,” he added. He questioned why there is a non-local police force in Karachi while other cities have local police, highlighting this as an injustice.

Siddiqui commented that the “racist” government of Sindh has been given a free hand, indicating that the MQM has been silent due to the sanctity and worship of Ramazan, but it will not remain silent on the martyrdom of the city’s youth at the hands of non-local bandits.

He stressed that the MQM-P would not hesitate to make any sacrifice even if it meant taking to the streets for the honour of women. The event was also attended by the party’s ad-hoc organising committee members Anis Qaimkhani, MNAs, MPAs, party office-bearers and workers.
