Tech billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk revealed that he has been suffering from depression and how he manages it with prescribed dose of ketamine.
In a recent interview, he said that he takes a small dose every other week to help lift his “negative frame of mind."
“Ketamine is helpful for getting one out of a negative frame of mind,” the 52-year-old tech mogul told Don Lemon.
“There are times when I have… depression that is not linked to any negative news, and then ketamine is helpful for getting one outside out of a negative frame of mind,” Musk said.
Musk said that ketamine hasn't negatively impacted his business ventures and believes it might even benefit investors. Musk brushed aside concerns that his use of anaesthetic might impact his government contracts or Wall Street's view of him.
"From the standpoint of Wall Street, what matters is execution. From an investor standpoint if there is something I’m taking, I should keep taking it," he stressed.
“Tesla is worth about as much as the rest of the car industry combined, from nothing. That’s pretty good. We had the best-selling car on Earth last year. So from investors’ standpoint, if there is something I’m taking, I should keep taking it,” he said.
Musk further said that he had previously discussed his use of ketamine, as he believed it could help others as well
While the Elon Musk-led social media platform, X, declined a commercial partnership with Lemon's show, the interview itself was still aired.
