The funeral prayers for Fahimuddin, a Pakistani German who was murdered in Germany’s Ulm city, were offered in Karachi on Monday. The victim had migrated from Karachi’s Azizabad neighbourhood years ago and settled in Ulm.

The victim’s close friend Ahmed Saeed said the assailant first attacked Fahimuddin’s wife and daughters, then fatally attacked Fahimuddin himself. Saeed said the assailant is alive and undergoing treatment at a hospital.

“Fahimuddin’s neighbours and friends are also saddened by his death. Fahim spent many memorable moments with us. The condition of Fahimuddin’s wife and daughters is critical, while two of their daughters managed to save themselves by hiding.”

The funeral prayers for the deceased were offered at a mosque in Azizabad, and they were attended by relatives, friends and residents of the locality. He was later laid to rest at a local graveyard.
