A Pakistan International Airlines plane which made an emergency landing at the Muscat Airport due to a technical fault reached back Karachi on Monday after it became operational.
The plane remained stranded at the Muscat Airport for 12 days after it developed the fault. The plane developed a fault during its flight from Madinah to Islamabad on March 6 and had to make an emergency landing at the Muscat Airport.
Aircraft engineers belonging to the PIA went to Muscat for the rectification of the fault. A replacement engine of the faulty Boeing-777 was sent onboard a C-130 plane to Muscat to make it operational. The fault was repaired two days back and the plane underwent testing. A heavy sum was spent on repairing the faulty plane.
