Jahanzeb Malik, 34, son of Ghulam Rasool, was found dead in a flat on the 20th floor of a building in Defence Phase VIII within the limits of the Sahil police station. Responding to the information, police rushed to the apartment where they retrieved the body and shifted it to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

The investigations revealed that Malik had been killed around eight to 10 hours ago and he was shot in the back to his head with a 9 mm pistol. The deceased man owned an electrical appliances shop named Electronic Umpire in the Khada Market. Four live rounds and three spent rounds were seized from the crime scene and sent to the forensic division. Malik had married five years ago and he had a son and a daughter.

Police said the deceased had bought the flat in the name of his wife a month ago. The victim's brother, Shahrukh, told police that his brother's children had been at their grandparents' house since the previous night.

Police said the victim's wife was mysteriously missing. They, however, added that it was too early to come to any conclusion as investigations were under way and they were searching for the deceased man’s wife. Footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby is also being obtained and a case has been reported.
