Nita Ambani, the chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, revealed her two desires for her son Anant Ambani's wedding with Radhika Merchant as Gujarat's Jamnagar opens its red carpet to VVIPs from all over the world.
Nita Ambani said: “Throughout my life, I’ve been inspired by arts and culture. It has deeply moved me and I’m very passionate about it.”
She added: “When it came to my youngest son Anant’s wedding with Radhika, I had two important wishes. First, I wanted to celebrate our roots. Jamnagar holds a special place in our hearts and has a profound significance. Gujarat is where we come from.
"It’s where Mukesh [Ambani] and his father built the refinery and I started my career by converting this arid and desert-like area into a lush green township and a vibrant community. Second, I wanted the celebration to be a tribute to our arts and culture and a reflection of our heritage and culture created by the hands, hearts and hard work of our talented creative minds.”
Nita Ambani expressed her sincere thanks to the sacred country of India, which is supported by "parampara" (tradition) and "sanskriti" (culture), according to News18.
Radhika Merchant, the daughter of businessman Viren Merchant and his wife Shaila Merchant, will marry Anant Ambani, 28, the youngest son of Reliance Industries Limited chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani.
The wedding is scheduled for later this year, but from March 1 to 3, a three-day pre-wedding celebration is being hosted in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
CEOs of Adnoc and Meta, Ted Pick of Morgan Stanley, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Bob Iger of Disney, Larry Fink of BlackRock, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber of Adnoc, and Lynn Forester de Rothschild, chair of EL Rothschild, are reportedly in attendance.
Several celebrities, including Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan, Rihanna, and Shah Rukh Khan, have already arrived in Jamnagar. There will be a lot more VIPs in attendance, particularly Indian tycoons and representatives of the entertainment and sports industries.
