The wedding celebrations for Anant Ambani — the son of Asia's richest man, Mukesh Ambani — have kicked off in Jamnagar, with A-list invitees flying to India from all over the world, BBC reported.

Anant is the youngest offspring of Mukesh, who is the world's tenth richest man and the owner of Reliance Industries in India, and philanthropist Nita Ambani.

Born on April 10, 1995, in Mumbai, Anant has two older siblings, Akash and Isha. The 28-year-old is on the board of the Reliance Foundation and is active with Reliance's energy-related companies. After completing his early schooling at Mumbai's Dhirubhai Ambani International School, he graduated from Brown University.

The heir to the Reliance group, Anant, is set to marry Radhika Merchant this year in July. Their pre-wedding festivities have, however, already begun in Jamnagar, the home of the Reliance Foundation.

His fiancee Radhika is the younger daughter of Viren Merchant and Shaila Merchant, who are the founders and owners of Encore Healthcare.

The Ambani family has organised a three-day feast for the locals in Jamnagar, which began on Wednesday.

Some of the world's most influential people have started to arrive in India's Gujarat state to attend the wedding party thrown by Asia's richest man. META chief Mark Zuckerberg, American pop star Rihanna and Microsoft founder Bill Gates are among the pre-wedding gala's illustrious list of guests.

The extravagant pre-wedding event is in keeping with the Ambani family's record of hosting lavish wedding parties.
