Court summons Imran in female judge harassment case

ISLAMABAD: A local court Wednesday summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in female judge intimidation case.

During the hearing, Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge Marida Abbas issued a production order for summoning the former prime minister.

The judge ordered the Adiala Jail superintendent to present Imran Khan before the court at the next hearing. The court adjourned the case till April 3.

In another case, Accountability Court Judge Nasir Javed Rana’s court extended till March 11 the judicial remand of former minister Fawad Chaudhary, who was arrested for alleged corruption in Jhelum-Pind Dadan Khan road construction.

During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhary was summoned. He was brought to the judicial complex from Adiala Jail in an armored vehicle with tight security.

During the hearing, Fawad came to the rostrum and asked for opening his handcuffs.

He said that they have respect, so they should be taken care of.

The judge said that he was conducting the first hearing, questioning what did the investigation officer do? The court extended Fawad’s judicial remand and adjourned the hearing till March 11.
