Power breakdown at Dhabeji pumping station disrupts water supply

A power breakdown at the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (KWSC) Dhabeji Pumping Station caused disruption in the city’s water supply on Saturday.

According to a press statement from the KWSC, two lines, dia 72-inch MS line number five, and 72-inch PRCC line number, were affected due to the sudden power breakdown by K-Electric at the Dhabeji Pumping Station.

The KWSC spokesman reported that upon receiving information about the affected lines, officials promptly reached the spot and inspected them. Chief Executive Officer KWSC Engineer Syed Sallahuddin Ahmed instructed officers to expedite the restoration work of the affected lines to ensure citizens did not face any inconvenience.

In response, KWSC officials initiated the restoration work on an emergency basis.

The chief engineer of the corporation confirmed that the water supply to the city was being maintained through alternative lines.
