hyderabad: The elections in the country are farcical as only those are allowed to win who are approved by the establishment.
Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP) Chairman Dr Qadir Magsi made this remark on Saturday while addressing the 32nd Motherland Foundation Day meeting at Alamdar Chock.
He said his party was always concerned about Sindh and the fact that the elections were over would not stop them from thinking about Sindh.
He said that although he held large public meetings, the real work was to highlight and solve the public problems.
He said the landlords and establishment had made Parliament a political club, and the country's laws and economic policies were made for them.
Dr Magsi lamented that Pakistan had been robbed during 75 years and no one tried to improve the country, as a result of which it was stuck in debts.
He said that he hoped that after the mistakes of General Bajwa and General Faiz Hameed, the new establishment would learn lessons from the history, but it struck a deal with Asif Ali Zardari.
The STP chairman alleged that Zardari and his team had been robbing the country for 15 years. He maintained that Zardari was not popular in his home constituency of Nawabshah.
Dr Magsi rejected the general elections 2024 and said there was no democracy in the country, due to which the struggle for a real democracy would continue. He called for the supremacy of Parliament and a constitutional rule.
He said Sindh needed a real transformation, but some circles were against it. Currently, the country's social media was in the hands of a few elites who had been presenting Zardari as the face of Sindh, the STP chairman added.
He said Sindh had been occupied, due to which fertiliser and seeds were being sold in black. He asked the people of Sindh to help him in his fight against what he called Zardari mafia.
