590 awarded degrees in KC convocation

LAHORE: The 87th convocation of the Kinnaird College for Women was held at the college campus here on Thursday.

Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman was the chief guest of the convocation in which 590 undergraduates and 158 MPhil/MS graduates were awarded degrees in Language, Literature, Education, Law, Applied Sciences, Business, Art, Design and Media Communication.

Degrees were also awarded to Physical & Earth Sciences & Biological & Life Sciences graduates. As many as 32 students were on the principal’s honour and merit lists with a CGPA of 3.80 and above while 16 gold medals were awarded to outstanding students for achieving the highest grades in their academics. It was informed that Intermediate results of Kinnaird College were excellent. At 93.59% the college got the highest pass percentage among all institutions of the Lahore Board.

Besides the governor, Principal Prof Dr Rukhsana David also addressed and commended the students and emphasised how Kinnaird has always aimed to educate women and empower them.
