PESHAWAR: The 3rd Peshawar Literature Festival was inaugurated here on Wednesday with the aim to promote art, literature and education in the province.
The festival would continue for eight days in which a number of conferences, academic sessions, stage plays, discussions, competitions and poetic sessions would be organized. The activities during the festival would take place in different departments and halls of the University of Peshawar. Noted literati from across the province and elsewhere in the country would participate in the activities. The event is being held under the aegis of Dosti Welfare, a non-governmental organisation, working for promotion of education in the neglected parts of Pakistan. The organisation is run by a US-based literati Dr Munir Ahmad. The inaugural session of the festival was held at the spacious lawn of Sheikh Taimur Academic Block of the University of Peshawar.
