MULTAN: The players of Pakistan Super League’s Multan Sultans team were pleasantly surprised by the transformed culture of Multan Sardar police station during their visit on Friday. CPO Multan Sadiq Ali warmly welcomed the players upon their arrival.
The visiting Multan Sultans players —Mohammad Wasim, coach of the Multan Sultans; national fast bowler Ehsanullah; Osama Mir; and Abbas Afridi — toured the police station and various offices, including the front desk, to assess police services. CPO Multan Sadiq Ali briefed them on the facilities offered to citizens in police stations.
Expressing their appreciation, the players were pleased to encounter a people-friendly environment at the police station. They hailed the initiative to revamp the police station culture as commendable.
The visit coincided with a high-level security meeting chaired by South Punjab Additional IG Police Muhammad Kamran Khan at the Multan CPO office to discuss security arrangements for the Ninth edition of the PSL in Multan. CPO Sadiq Ali was also present at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Multan SSP Operations Muhammad Imran, SSP Investigation Rana Muhammad Ashraf, CTO Jalil Imran Ghalizai, SP Gilgasht Division Ayaz Hussain, SP City Division Hasan Raza Khakhi, SP Sadr Division Shamsuddin, DSP Headquarters Nimreen Munir, and other officers.
The South Punjab AIGP instructed all officers to ensure foolproof security for players, fans, and management during the PSL. Clear routes should be maintained upon the teams’ arrival, and they should be escorted to the stadium under tight security. An effective traffic management plan was also directed to be put in place to facilitate citizens and ensure smooth traffic flow.
