WANA: Four persons were injured here on Monday when an explosion occurred in a junk shop in Rustam Bazaar at Wana, the headquarters of Lower South Waziristan district.

Officials said that four people were injured, while the area police’s station house officer (SHO) escaped unhurt. All the injured were reported to be civilians.

A police official stated that at the time of the explosion, SHO Razaullah of Wana City Police Station was passing by, but he remained unhurt.

According to the preliminary investigation report, the explosives had already been planted at a scrap car shop near Allah Noor Pump in Wana

Officials stated that all the injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital at Wana where doctors said their condition was stable. After the explosion, the police cordoned off the entire area and initiated a search operation.

Later, the area was cleared. Subsequently, Taj Wazir, an independent candidate for PK-110 constituency, visited the District Headquarters Hospital, where he met all the injured and assured them of cooperation.
