569 degrees conferred at 13th PAF convocation

As many as 569 degrees were conferred on graduates at the 13th Convocation of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology, held at the convention centre of the PAF Museum on Friday.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan was the chief guest, while Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Aman was also present on the occasion.

According to PAF statement, the graduates were conferred on students of management sciences, computer sciences and engineering.

The College of Management Sciences awarded 41 degrees in BBA, 7 in BS Accounting & Finance, 171 in MBA and 7 in MS Management Sciences degree programmes.

The College of Computing & Information Sciences awarded 60 degrees in BS Computer Sciences, 18 in BS-Enterprise Resource Planning, 28 in MCS, 5 in MBA Management Information System, 16 in MS Computer Sciences, 7 in MS Electronic Engineering; 19 degrees were awarded to Bachelor in Computer Arts and 7 to Master in Computer Arts graduates.

Furthermore, the College of Engineering awarded 183 degrees to the graduates of BE Electronics degree program.

The Sindh governor awarded gold and silver Medals to the distinguished students. He emphasised the importance of higher education and the significance of research and development for the progress of the country.

The president of the institute, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Tubrez Asif, gave welcome address at the ceremony.

The students who earned gold medals in various disciplines include Yusra Shehzadi (BBA), Aaqib Saeed (BS Computer Sciences), M Ammar Hassan (BE Electronics), Farah Wahid Khan (Bachelor in Computer Arts), M Danyal Raza (BS Accounting & Finance), Sumaira Zubair (BS- Enterprise Resource Planning), Mariam Khan (MBA), Abdul Rauf Shaikh (MBA Enterprise Resource Planning), Zaheer Abbas (MCS), Nabiha Zeeshan (Master in Computer Arts), Ghulam Muhammad (MS Management Sciences), M Bilal Aslam (MS-Software Engineering) and Waqar Ahmed (MS Electronic Engineering).
