Notices issued to witnesses in ECP offices attack case

PESHAWAR: The special anti-terrorism court here on Saturday issued notices to two prosecution witnesses in a case pertaining to the attack on the offices of the provincial election commission on May 9 last year.

Issuing the notices to the two prosecution witnesses, the special court adjourned the hearing till February 13. Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Usman Bashir heard the case regarding the attack on the Election Commission offices on May 9 during the protests against the arrest of former prime minister Imran Khan.

According to the prosecution, the accused had ransacked the offices of the provincial election commission offices in Peshawar on May 9.

A case was registered against 39 workers and former lawmakers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at the East Cantonment Police Station in Peshawar. The police submitted the challan to the court after completing an investigation.
