LAHORE: The decision of the Supreme Court was not for any person or party but was compensation for the people’s lack of faith in the judiciary, said PMLN leader Javed Latif during a media interaction on Tuesday. He said that the decision was rendered under the law and was rooted in justice.

Latif raised questions about those who cast doubt on the institutions of Pakistan, urging an inquiry into those who exerted pressure and made decisions under duress.

He recalled Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s efforts to fortify Pakistan through the creation of the Islamic Bloc and highlighted Nawaz Sharif’s contributions, including the development of the country, the initiation of CPEC, and the resolution of issues like load-shedding and terrorism.

He questioned the economic stability initiatives undertaken by Imran Khan during his four-year tenure. He expressed concern about a person threatening election commission members from inside jail and mentioned attacks on the Supreme Court by his supporters.

He also raised questions about an incident on May 9 or 10, stressing the need for clarity on whether it was a crime and why no punishment had been imposed so far.

The PMLN leader asserted that a social media campaign advocating a level playing field was ongoing, expressing worry that such trends could persist for years.

He questioned the prospect of allowing someone who worked against Pakistan to roam free.

When asked about PMLN’s election activities, he said that the schedule for political rallies involving central leaders would be released in the coming days.
