ISLAMABAD: The incumbent management of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to go ahead with automation of residential and commercial property record in the federal capital.
The civic management has been contemplating for the last nearly nine years for automation of property record in Islamabad in order to avoid bogus and fraudulent cases.
However, there has been no remedy to small investors to fall victim in fraudulent cases despite the fact that the transfer letters were issued by the CDA office during the last six years.
Neither any concrete action was taken against responsible officials nor any remedial measure was taken for the allottees.
The whole exercise raised questions over credibility of CDA keeping investors at bay from investing in Islamabad.
The CDA Chairman Captain (R) Anwarul Haq recently chaired CDA Development Working Party which besides other projects, also approved Rs170 million PC-1 of the automation project.
The meeting was attended by officials from the ministries of Finance, Planning and Interior.
According to details, the contract for automation of property record would be given to a government firm on government to government basis.
As per estimates, the firm would computerize record of 45 million papers in a period of two years to enable the CDA’s Estate Management wing and Land and Rehabilitation directorates bring transparency in their working.
The same firm would also be responsible for maintaining and running the automation working of the property record etc.
