ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan issued a revised election programme for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s PK-91 constituency on Tuesday after its appeal against the Peshawar High Court order was accepted by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by the election commission, it was said that due to the order of the Honourable Peshawar High Court on December 27, 2023, the election process in the PK-91 constituency was stalled.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the following revised election programme.
The last day of scrutiny of nomination papers is January 5, whereas the last date for filing an appeal against rejection or acceptance of nomination papers is January 9. Likewise, the last date for adjudication of appeals by the Appellate Tribunal is January 16, while the revised list of candidates will be published on January 17. The last date for the withdrawal of nomination papers is January 18, 2024. The date for the allotment of election symbols for candidates is January 19. A few days ago, the PHC had suspended the returning officer of the constituency, after which the polling process was halted in PK-91. The Election Commission had filed a plea in the apex court against this development.
