During his visit to different areas of Saddar Town on Sunday, the town’s chairman Mansoor Ahmed Sheikh stressed on installing fire extinguishing systems in buildings across the town.
Sheikh said that with the change of weather, incidents of fire have increased in different parts of the city.
He said that due to the inadequate arrangements of fire extinguishing equipment at houses, markets and warehouses, there is a fear of more lives and financial losses in case of a fire.
He also said that if everyone and every institute properly monitor the electrical installations and electrical equipment in their homes, shops, factories, markets and warehouses, such accidents can be avoided.
The town chairman said the fires that broke out in different places in the city in recent days were brought under control due to the measures taken by the fire brigade department, but many people lost their lives in these incidents.
He said Saddar Town is the commercial hub of the city, where business centres, markets, shopping centres, and thousands of shops, factories and warehouses are located, so it is very important to have all safety measures to avoid short circuits and fires.
“To avoid accidents, effective fire extinguishing equipment should also be installed,” he pointed out. He also stressed on replacing old electrical wiring and ensuring the presence of fire cylinders to prevent possible damage.
It is the responsibility of the relevant institutions to take immediate action and take practical steps to prevent such incidents to ensure the safety of people’s lives and properties, he added.
