ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday gave time to amici curiae until January 18 for written submissions for implementation of child labour laws.
Chief Justice Aamir Farooq heard the civil society’s request to dismiss the judge from his job and enforce the child labour laws due to violence against young domestic help Rizwana at the house of Civil Judge Asim Hafeez.
Three amici curiae appeared in the court. Two of them sought time to submit their submissions. The CJ remarked several cases related to violence against young domestic workers have come to light. He said regrettably two cases in Islamabad involved those related to the judiciary. The court adjourned hearing of the case till January 18.
