8,098 candidates take KU entry test

As many as 8,098 candidates took the entry test held for the University of Karachi’s (KU) morning programmes for BS, BEd (H) and BE, and morning and evening programmes of Doctor of Pharmacy and Doctor of Physical Therapy on Sunday.

The KU conducted the entry test for the academic year 2024 in the departments of applied chemistry and chemical technology, applied physics, biotechnology, business administration, BE chemical engineering, commerce, computer science BSCS and BSSE, Chinese, criminology, education, environmental studies, nutrition and dietetics, international relations, mass communication, public administration, petroleum technology, special education, sports business management and BEd (H) teacher education, and doctor of physical therapy (five-year programme) and doctor of pharmacy (five-year programme) in morning and evening shifts.

The KU Directorate Admissions Committee incharge, Dr Saima Akhtar, said the varsity had received 8, 575 online admission forms for the entry test-based degree programmes, and a total of 8,098 candidates took the entry test for 1,517 allocated seats in these departments at 22 examination centres across the campus. The initial list of the successful candidates would be uploaded by December 7, on the admission portal. The KU conducted the entry test through its own assessment and testing service.

KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, Registrar Prof Dr Abdul Waheed, Director Evening Prof Dr Imran Ahmed Siddiqui and others monitored the admission test proceedings.
