PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday sought reply from the government on the writ petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser seeking court orders not to be arrested in connection with the cases filed against him.
During the hearing, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim remarked that why was the government arresting an accused in connection with another case when he secured bail in one case. He made the remarks when the two-member PHC bench consisting of Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah were hearing the writ petition.
The lawyer of Asad Qaiser told the court that his client was getting arrested repeatedly. The additional advocate general told the court that Asad Qaiser had been nominated in various cases, therefore, he was being arrested. The court adjourned the hearing until December 7.
