Rehan Aziz Malik has been elected the president of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) for the year 2023-24 in the polls held on Saturday.
According to the results announced by the election commissioner, Malik has been declared the elected president with 1,626 votes, while the other contestants, Amel Khan Kasi and Abdul Wahab Baloch, secured 1,200 and 631 votes respectively.
Zubair Ahmed (Abro) was elected the vice president after bagging 1,600 votes, defeating Farhan Zia Abrar and Mohammad Azad Khan who obtained 1,044 and 658 votes respectively.
Mohammad Sarfaraz Ali Metlo was declared the returning candidate for the office of honorary secretary with 2,129 votes. He defeated Tehmasp Rasheed Razvi, Syed Mohammad Ishrat Ghazali and Mohammad Ajmal Awan who obtained 1,197, 63 and 49 votes respectively.
Hakim Ali Shar was declared successful for the post of treasurer after securing 1,895 votes against Mohammad Yasin Shahid Bhatti who polled 1,312 votes.
Ghulam Asghar Pathan won the joint secretary’s post after polling 1,748 votes. He defeated Mohammad Sajjad Abbasi and Faisal Ahmed who secured 1,243 and 414 votes respectively.
Gulnaz Kausar was elected additional joint
secretary for female affairs with 1,179 votes. She defeated Faiqa Amin, Fauzia Mushtaq, Mehmooda Suleman, Rakhshanda Waheed and Sehreena Rafi who bagged 884, 441, 435, 221 and 250 votes respectively.
The managing committee members of the SHCBA are Aamir Raza, Zaibun Nisa (Iqbalani), Adnan Ali, Mohammad Iqrar, Abdul Aziz Dayo, Amjad Hussain, Mohammad Ali (Shahwani), Mohammad Naeem Khan and Ishrat Siddiqui.
