ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court IHC has been informed that Dr Fowzia will meet her incarcerated sister Dr Aafia Siddiqui in the United States in the first week of December, it emerged Friday.
This will be the second meeting between the two sisters in the last 20 years. Earlier in May, Dr Fowzia met Aafia Siddiqui in Fort Worth prison. IHC Justice Sardar Aijaz Ishaq Khan took up the plea seeking the immediate release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui who is incarcerated in the US.
In Friday’s hearing Aafia Siddiqui’s advocate informed the court from the US on the video link that Fowzia Siddiqui is scheduled to meet her sister again on December 2 and 3. She will be accompanied by Senators Mushtaq and Talha Mahmood.
Speaking to media Dr Fauzia’s lawyer Imran Shafique said his client has some security concerns before leaving for the United States and it is the government s responsibility to address them.
