PTI leader injured in Karachi clash

KARACHI: A local leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Haleem Adil Shaikh, was injured in a clash between activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf at an election camp office in the Taimuria police limits here on Saturday night.

Talking to The News, PTI leader Haleem Adil Shaikh said he and Dr Arif Alvi, along with several PTI workers, were sitting in the election camp of NA-245 near the Five Star Chowrangi in the North Nazimabad area when the MQM workers, taking out a rally, stopped in front of the PTI election camp and some of them started using abusive language.

He said when he tried to stop them MQM activists attacked him and other party workers and fired shots in the air. Haleem Adil said he received head injuries in the attack. Later, the MQM activists dispersed before the law-enforcement personnel reached the scene.
