SC moved over video scandal in Bahawalpur Islamia University

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court was requested on Tuesday to direct the police investigation team to take measures to stop dissemination of recovered video clips and nude pictures in Bahawalpur Islamia University video scandal.

Advocate Zulfiqar Ahmed filed a petition under Article 184(3) of the Constitution making Federation of Pakistan through the law secretary, Punjab chief secretary, FIA director general and Punjab IGP as respondents

He prayed the apex court that direction may be issued that during the investigation any officer concerned with the subject investigation including IG Police Punjab or FIA may not be suspended, transfer order withdrawn from investigation of subject case without permission of Supreme Court.

He further prayed that Judicial Commission as ordered by the Punjab government on 31st of July may be stopped to work till completion of investigation by police and FIA, and that police and FIA may be directed to complete their investigation within next 15-day time.

The petitioner further prayed the apex court that direction may be issued for not sharing or disclosing detail of investigation with any political figure without permission of the court.
