The provincial apex committee, the top-level body in Sindh for overseeing and taking decisions pertaining to the ongoing security situation under the National Action Plan, will meet on Thursday, (today) with Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah in chair.
A day before, on Wednesday, the chief minister presided over another meeting to be apprised of the latest updates on law and order situation.
Talking to media after the meeting, chief minister’s information adviser Moula Bux Chandio said Corps Commander Karachi Lt General Naveed Mukhtar will attend the apex committee meeting to apprise the government about follow-up actions and arrests, if any, in the aftermath of recent arrest of an agent of the Indian intelligence agency in Balochistan.
The information adviser said India’s goodwill towards Pakistan was only limited to verbal statements in response to the visits of artists, writers and intellectuals, but in practical terms it only incited violence and hatred in its neighbour. “Our neighbouring country has never accepted our presence and security,” he remarked.
