Chinese Communist Party delegation calls on Bilawal

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Communist Party of China Tuesday called on PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The delegation led by Li Jun assistant minister of international department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of China (IDCPC) included Yuan Ruidong, Jia Peng, Wang Bo, Wang Yuwei, Tan Wei and other senior officials.

Chinese ambassador Sun Weidong and a senior official of the Chinese embassy were also present in the meeting, said a press release. PPP chairman was assisted by former prime ministers Yusuf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Sherry Rehman, former deputy speaker Faisal Karim Kundi, ex-MNA Palwasha Behram and political secretary Jamil Soomro.

Bilawal hailed the CPEC for its enormous potential to not only spur development in Pakistan but also promote regional connectivity and thereby regional peace and stability. He also appreciated the role of China for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan as member of the Quadrilateral Committee comprising Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and the US.
