The singer, songwriter, composer and lyricist has embarked on a massive North American tour in the new year, and has dropped a new song, produced by Abdullah Siddiqui.
What happens when two musical minds meet to create something organic with purity in purpose? It leads to something like ‘Ghazab Kiya’ an enigmatic and arresting new song by Ali Sethi, which has been produced by wonder kid Abdullah Siddiqui. Originally performed by the late Mehdi Hassan, Ali showed just how versatile he can be as a vocalist.
Ali Sethi, who is pushing the envelope through his songs and music videos has not faltered. ‘Ghazab Kiya’, is ultimately the result of music written by Ali Sethi (adapted from Daagh Dehlvi’s ‘Ghazab Kiya’). The music video for the song is an almost mythical, monochromatic, majestic piece of art (that complements the song) and has been directed by Fahad Hussayn.
The song, part-anthemic, part-electronic, experimental and embedded with emotion, is not the only major development in Sethi’s career after ‘Pasoori’, the song that broke records and won hearts around the world. A product of Coke Studio 14, the song even led to Ali Sethi being named Innovator by Time Magazine’s 2022 TIME100 Next list.
While his new song and music video is as distinct and astonishing as each of Sethi’s releases in recent years, he is also busy with a significant North American tour with performances lined up in Chicago, Detroit, Vancouver, BC, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and many other places before ending at Coachella in April.
Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California is among the most prominent music festivals in the world. It is a celebratory moment for the artist as he takes the stage at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in California. Ali Sethi will perform on April 16 and April 23, later this year. He will be performing on the third stage.
This will not be the first time that an artist with Pakistani roots will be performing at Coachella. Earlier in 2022, Arooj Aftab became the first Pakistani-American artist to perform at the prominent music festival.
