Alleged misbehaviour of EDO Health

DHQ Hospital’s doctors, paramedical staff observe strike

TOBA TEK SINGH: Doctors, nurses and paramedical staff of the DHQ Hospital on Monday observed a strike for two hours against EDO Health Dr Nawaz Ranjha’s alleged misbehaviour with doctors and other staff.

The protesters also blocked traffic on Toba-Rajana Road in protest. The protesters alleged that the EDO visited the hospital at 2am and beat a ward servant Ghulam Farid with the help of shoes and abused on duty doctors. They demanded action against the EDO. Later, DHO Dr Khalid Mirza held talks with the protesters and gave them a message of DCO Amir Ijaz Akbar that he was in Faisalabad to attend a meeting and he would probe into the incident on Tuesday. At this, the protesters ended their protest. When contacted, EDO Dr Nawaz Ranjha denied all allegations levelled by the doctors against him and claimed that no such incident was happened in the hospital.

DACOITY: A dacoity incident was reported at Kamalia on Sunday night.

Senior lawyer Ch Muhammad Mukhtar and his friend Javed Iqbal were on their way to Faisalabad when two dacoits intercepted them near Bypass Road and snatched Rs 175,000, mobile phones and other valuables from them.
