ISLAMABAD: In a reaction to Altaf Hussain’s statement, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has stated that matters related to national interest are of very sensitive nature and one should think before making statements.
PM Nawaz went on to say that such careless statements undermine the honour of national institutions and also hurt the sentiments of the people.
He further said it is the responsibility of the government to take care of the respect and reputation of the military.
The Premier also welcomed the apology extended by Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain over his statements.
The PM also called upon the media to follow the code of conduct as per the law and constitution, adding that it should ensure not to promote statements against national interest.
