ISLAMABAD: The chief election commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza Khan has said that ballot boxes were enough for 124 votes of the Kyber Pakhtun Khuwan (KPK) assembly and anyone pressing allegations of rigging should come up with proves and action will be taken.
During an interview the CEC said that horse trading will not be tolerated and mere words were not enough to put an end to this practice.
He also said that people giving or taking money should be thoroughly investigated. He was of the view that signature or a thumb impression missing on the counter file is not rigging.
He further said that local body elections in KPK would be held by April but immediate use of electronic biometrics in elections was not possible.
