PESHAWAR: Within a span of four hours, two bomb blasts rocked Peshawar on Friday. In both incidents, police were targeted by militants.
According to details, one bomb blast took place at the Northern Bypass while the other at Piranu market in Peshawar. In the bomb blast that took place at the Northern Bypass, the vehicle of DSP Chamakni Abdus Salam was damaged. The DSP remained unhurt in the incident.
A police van on its patrol was damaged by the bomb blast which took place at Piranu market. Windows of the police van broke due to the intensity of the blast. According to police sources, the bomb was hidden by militants inside a garbage dump. The police van was the target of the militants.
Peshawar has always been at the center of many terrorist attacks and bomb blasts, orchestrated by militant organisations such as the TTP or other banned outfits. Apart from civilians, police and security forces have been targeted most of the times by these militant organisations.
