LAHORE: Former president and Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari would soon return to Pakistan in coming days, said PPP Punjab leader Qamar Zaman Kaira late on Tuesday.
Speaking at Allama Iqbal Airport, Kaira said, “The party will take the decision on Zardari`s return."
He went on to say, "As there are no restrictions imposed on him (Zardari), it’s the party which is going to decide about when and where he will return.”
Earlier, Asif Ali Zardari telephoned General Qamar Javed Bajwa and congratulated him for taking charge as the 16th Chief of Army Staff.
The former president extended his best wishes to General Bajwa and reiterated that his party would continue supporting the armed forces in their war against terrorism in the country.
He said that the entire nation was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with its valiant armed forces against growing Indian aggression on the eastern front.
