President approves civil awards

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari, on the advice of the prime minister, has approved conferment of national civil awards upon the eminent personalities in various disciplines.
Following is the detail of awards approved by the president:-
(i) Irfan Siddique, (Columnist), Hilal-i-Imtiaz; (ii) Muhammad Ashiq Chaudhry, Sitara-i-Imtiaz; (iii) Azhar Hussain Jafri, (Photo-Journalist), President’s Award for Pride of Performance;(iv) Ceicil Chaudhry (Retd) PAF Officer and Human Rights Activist, President’s Award for Pride of Performance;(v) Nazir Laghari (Journalist), President’s Award for Pride of Performance;(vi) Munir Hussain late (Former Cricket Commentator / Journalist), President’s Award for Pride of Performance (Posthumous).
