KARACHI: Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, the leader of business community, congratulated Miftah Ismail on his appointment as adviser to the prime minister on finance.
Dr Baig said, “Pakistan’s economy and business community needed a full-time person to address the challenges our economy is faced with.”
He said that Miftah Ismail was from Karachi and belonged to the business community; therefore, he would understand issues faced by the community.
He highlighted that payment of the sales tax and rebate to the exporters to regularise the declaration of overseas assets of the Pakistanis and broadening up the tax net to be the priorities of the new adviser. He assured his full support and cooperation from the apex body, FPCCI, to achieve the desired results.
