PM for conservation of forests, wildlife
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed for early completion of the ongoing projects for conservation of forests and protection of wildlife in the country.
He issued the instructions during the briefing at Lal Suhanara National Park Wednesday. The prime minister had overnight stay in the park and he was briefed about wildlife and forest issues. The secretary forests and other senior officials briefed the prime minister about the ongoing projects related to the conservation and promotion of forests and wildlife as well as the uplift of Lal Suhanara National Park, including revival of Patisar Lake, conservation of native flora and fauna of Cholistan to provide sustained wildlife base, a forestation over 1212 acres of blank area with Shisham, Kikar and other local species, Wildlife breeding through breeding farms, enhancement of fines against illegal hunting and strengthening of wildlife protection forces in Cholistan. Prime Minister Nawaz directed for early completion of the ongoing projects for conservation of forests and protection of wildlife during the briefing. The prime minister also directed for removing any bottlenecks in the uplift of Lal Suhanara Park to restore the beauty of this National Park.
Federal Minister for Information Senator Pervaiz Rashid, elected representatives and notables from Bahawalpur and adjoining areas and other senior officials were also present during the briefing. The prime minister also discussed with them problems being confronted by them. He asked the administration to address the grievances of the people. The newly-elected local bodies’ members and office holders were also among the guests and they had candid discussion about the local and national issues, the sources said. The local bodies leaders and members appreciated the government efforts in redeeming the country from the difficultiesand assured Nawaz Sharif that common man has full faith in his leadership since he is a sincere and visionary leader. The premier assured them that the government would live up to their expectations.
