KP governor to reopen Bara Bazaar today

BARA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan will reopen the Bara Bazaar today (Monday) which remained closed due to militancy for six years, official said. Bara tehsil Assistant Political Agent Muhammad Arif told The News that all the arrangements had been completed for the governor’s visit to the main Bara Bazaar. “Three gates have been erected on the main road and all area has been decorated,” said Daud Khan, an office-bearer of the Anjuman-i-Tajiran. The assistant political agent pointed out that the governor would inaugurate various projects, including Rescue service office, bus stand, municipal committee along with other facilities.

 

KP homeopaths to protest licence fee increase

MANSEHRA: The homeopathic doctors have threatened to stage protest against three-fold increase in their licence revival fee imposed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission.The homeopathic doctors from across the district had held meeting here to evolve future strategy after government decision to increase their practicing licence free from Rs 500 to Rs 2000.Dr Guftar, president of the Homeopathic Doctors Association (HPDA), said that besides street agitation they were also thinking to move court against injustices being meted out to them. “The government is facilitating allopath but imposing restrictions against us, which is unacceptable. We will move the court against this injustice,” he said.

 

PAF soldier killed on Kohat runway

KOHAT: A personnel of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) was killed and four others sustained injuries in a mishap that took place on the runway in the PAF base here on Sunday, official sources said.The sources said that the personnel of the PAF Quick Response Force (QRF) were performing their emergency exercise on the runway when their pickup truck overturned. One of them identified as Humayun was killed on the spot while four others sustained injuries. — Correspondent
