CHARSADDA: Three schoolteachers sustained injuries when unidentified armed motorcyclists opened fire on them here on Friday, police sources said.
The sources said armed bike riders fired at the schoolteachers Muhammad Adil, Zahir Shah and Sahib Gul near GTS Mor in Prang. The teachers sustained injuries in the firing incident and were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Charsadda.
The police said that one of the teachers, Zahir Shah, was discharged from the DHQs. However, his two other colleagues were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar owing to their critical condition.
“We were on way to our homes when gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on us,” said the injured Zahir Shah. The police registered a case and started an investigation. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan, district chairman of the All Teachers Council, condemned the attack on the schoolteachers and asked the government to provide security to all teachers.
