Pak-Bahrain naval exercise concludes

The Pakistan and Royal Bahrain Navies on Saturday concluded the latest session of a bilateral naval exercise “Shaheen Al Jazeera” which included various operations related to countering maritime terrorism.
The “Shaheen Al Jazeera” is a series of special forces exercise that has been regularly conducted since 1997 between the Special Services Group – Navy (SSG-N) and the Bahrain Navy’s special forces at Karachi and Manama, every alternate year.
Owing to multifaceted maritime threats in the Indian Ocean region, the special forces of the two countries exercised various operations related to maritime counter-terrorism efforts and interdiction operations employment of Maritime Special Warfare (MSW) teams.
The exercise culminated with a display of coordinated special forces’ operations at sea which included boarding procedures through surface and air platforms.
The final event of the exercise was witnessed by commanders of the special operation forces of Royal Bahrain and Pakistan navies.
Both commanders appreciated the professional conduct and skills displayed by the participating teams.
The commanders highlighted that the exercise “Shaheen Al Jazeera” would prove beneficial in enhancing interoperability between the two navies and their special operations forces.
