Kashif, Israr move into US Junior Open quarters
KARACHI: Kashif Asif and Israr Ahmed moved into the quarter-finals of under-19 category in the US Junior Open Squash Championships at New Haven on Monday.
Israr defeated Ahsan Ayaz 11-4, 11-8, 11-5 and Kashif overpowered Y Essam 11-4, 11-7, 11-4 in the fourth round.
Abbas Shoukat was beaten by S Hughes 9-11, 9-11, 3-11.
Earlier, in the third round, Israr had defeated L Wilhelmi 11-6, 11-5, 11-1; Ahsan had beaten D Yacobucci 11-7, 11-5, 11-5; Kashif had defeated J Greenwood 11-7, 11-4, 11-0; and Abbas had beaten M Abouelmakarim 11-3, 11-8, 11-4.
Khushal Riaz Khan was beaten by Arthur A Nguyen 10-11, 9-11, 12-11 in the third round of under-13 category.
In under-15 category, Abbas Zeb beat Yaseen Elsebaie 11-6, 11-2, 11-9 in the third round. He will face Asser Ibrahim in the fourth round.
