Body found in canal
LAHORE :A body of a 55-year-old man, unidentified so far, was found floating in a canal in the Mustafa Town police limits on Friday.
Police removed the body to morgue. Police said the victim with one arm cut was spotted dead. The body was two days old.
207 held: Lahore Police has arrested 207 accused of violating Section 144 imposed by Punjab government in the wake of impending coronavirus and overcharging for masks and sanitizers. Total 72 cases were registered for violation of Section 144 and overcharging for facemasks and sanitizers. City division police arrested 68 accused, Cantt division 22, Civil Lines division 40, Sadr division 28, Model Town division one, Iqbal Town division arrested 33 accused.
DIG Operations Lahore Rai Babar Saeed had directed a crackdown on the shopkeepers overcharging for masks and sanitizers. So far as many as 24 FIRs have been registered against profiteers. DIG Operations warned that no one would be allowed to overcharge citizens in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. Rai Babar Saeed said that citizens could also lodge complaints at the police helpline 15 if someone demanded higher prices for masks and sanitizers. DIG Operations Rai Babar Saeed directed all the divisional SPs to speed up action against profiteers and hoarders.
