12-year-old missing girl found dead
LAHORE : A body of 12-year-old girl was found in a canal in the Barki police area on Tuesday.
A passerby spotted the body floating in BRB Canal near Karbath Village and informed police. A police official reached the spot and fished it out. He also collected forensic evidences from the crime scene and recorded the statements of the eye-witnesses.
The body was identified as that of Urooj, 12, daughter of Ghulam Rasool. She had been missing since April 14. Police have registered an FIR. train project claims life: Another youth died in an accident at the site of Orange Line Metro Train track in the Naulakha area on Tuesday.
Victim Asim, 25, was going on a bike near Lahore Railway Station when a speeding dumper employed at Orange Line Metro Train project hit and killed him. Police have removed the body to morgue and collected forensic evidences from the crime scene.
It is not the first death due to accidents at Orange Line Metro Train project sites. Seven people working on the project were burnt alive when their makeshift living space had caught a fire at Manawan. At least seven others had died at Manawan in 2016 when the wall of an under-construction warehouse had collapsed on them. Two workers were electrocuted at Nawab Town when their crane had touched high tension electric wires. Body found: A 40-year-old man was found dead in the Kot Lakhpat police jurisdiction on Tuesday.
Passersby spotted the body near Shanghai Underpass at Kot Lakhpat and informed police.The man, yet to be identified, was an addict, police claimed and said he might have died of an overdose of drugs. The body has been removed to morgue.
POs from Dubai: Seven proclaimed (POs) offenders in different heinous crimes arrested by Lahore police with the help of Interpol were brought to Pakistan from Duabi on Tuesday.
