KARACHI: The wish of Make-A-Wish child Shoaib Aurangzeb “to become a soldier of Pakistan Army for a day and to meet Army Chief” was granted yesterday, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.
Shoaib Aurangzeb, 17 years old suffering from thalassemia major expressed his most cherished wish of becoming a soldier to Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan. The Foundation conveyed his wish to the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif who was kind to accommodate the wish and allow the ailing child to become the soldier of Pakistan Army for a day.
On the recent visit of COAS to Karachi, the young patriotic Shoaib Aurangzeb dressed in army officer uniform met and salute the Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and expressed his desire to fight shoulder to shoulder along with Pakistan Army against the terrorist. The COAS also inquired about his health and appreciated his spirits for the defence of the motherland and presented him an iPad.
The Founding President Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan Ishtiaq Baig briefed the Army Chief about the activities of the Foundation and thanked him for fulfilling the dream of Shoaib Aurangzeb and bringing joy and happiness on the face of the ailing child.
Later, Shoaib visited an army unit in Malir Cantt and spent a day in 43 Azad Kashmir Regiment and took part in all the activities of the unit. He also met the GOC Malir Major General Shahzad Naeem Khan who presented an insignia to the young soldier.
