Boy drowns in open drain
LAHORE
A 12-year-old boy drowned in an open drain in the Kot lakhpat area on Sunday. Rescuers fished out the body from the drain. The boy had fallen into the drain while playing in his neighbourhood.
Two killed: Two people were run over and killed by a speeding truck at Chung on Multan Road on Sunday.
The victims, yet to be identified, were passing through Multan Road on a bike when a rashly-driven truck hit them and injured them.
The truck driver escaped after leaving his vehicle while the injured were removed to hospital where both were pronounced dead. Police have impounded the truck and removed the bodies to morgue.
Meanwhile, two people were injured when a cylinder exploded at a CNG station in the Chung area.
Rescuers shifted the injured to hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.
60 arrested: Police arrested at least 60 boys and girls at a farmhouse on Sunday on charges of merrymaking.
Police also recovered liquor, cocaine and weapons from the spot.
Manga Mandi, Sundar and Raiwind police had raided the farmhouse of one Irfan Pasha and arrested 60 boys and girls who were found under the influence of liquor and cocaine.
Man killed: A bike rider lost his life in a road accident here on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Waqas of Sector B/1 Township. He died after his motorcycle went straight into a footpath.
