24 arrested in Bannu raids
BANNU: The security forces and police during a joint search operation arrested at least 24 persons including wanted criminals and drug peddlers in the limits of Mandan Police Station on Saturday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters, Inayat Ali Shah, told journalists that more than 200 personnel of police and security forces took part in the early morning raid that lasted six hours.
The law enforcers also recovered 13 Kalashnikovs, nine pistols, a rifle, hundreds of rounds, two stolen cars and as many motorcycles as well as five kilograms of hashish, he said.
The official maintained that most of the suspects were wanted to the police in many cases of heinous nature. He added that the arrested men were later shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
