Court issues warrants against ARY’s Asad Kharal for defaming JSIL
Defame others and when court summons stay absent
KARACHI: On the complaint by JS Investment Limited, a case was registered under section 499, 500 and 501 PPC against Asad Kharal (anchor Kab Tak Programme – Head of Investigation ARY News) for airing defamatory and misleading programme against the company.
A criminal complaint was filed by JS Investment Limited against Asad Kharal on March 4, 2016 for defaming and misleading the public to form a negative image of the company. In this regard 3rd Additional Sessions Court Judge, Karachi South Abdul Qudoos Memon released order for bailable warrant in the sum of Rs50,000 against the accused for his attendance before the court on June 18, 2016.
The warrant have been issued on petition of the aggrieved that accused Asad Kharal falsely maligned the good reputation of JS Investment Limited for his personal interests by using the forum of Kab Tak Programme on ARY News.
According to the complaint filed, the accused was evidently against JS Investment Limited and was creating an impression that it was involved in fraud and in result thereof credibility and reputation of the highly ethical and law abiding entity was damaged and its ability to carry on its work was impaired. It should be noted that it has been the policy of this channel and its anchors to defame and insult others and when a court is moved against them they do not bother to appear before it.
